Application Process
We are currently accepting applications on a rolling basis for the 2013-14 academic year.

The University of Oregon online Graduate Application;

Transcripts from all colleges or universities attended (uploaded within the online Graduate Application);

Two letters of recommendation from references who can evaluate a candidate’s academic potential, (provide email addresses for your references within the online Graduate Application);

A brief statement of purpose or personal statement, uploaded into the online Graduate Application (2 pages, double spaced); and
-
A comprehensive employment and education resume, uploaded into the online Graduate Application.
*GRE Scores: Scores on the general test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) are optional, if used, scores should be sent from ETS to the University of Oregon using the university institution code, "4846," and the department code "4402 City and Regional Planning."
*A spoken English test score is required for all non-native English speakers (see below for qualifications/exemptions);
We note that admission to this Graduate Certificate Program does not guarantee admission to other Masters or PhD programs on campus.
If you are already enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Oregon, you need to talk with your Department Chair, advisor, and Dean about how your one year leave for this program will be handled. We will work with you on this if needed.
As with everything at the University of Oregon, if the information you supply is not accurate or complete, you may be subject to the University’s policies on academic dishonesty. Just a reminder!
Non-Native Speakers of English

Furthermore, non-native speakers of English applying to the OLIS program must also submit any one of the following to complete their application. Please be aware that this additional requirement for non-native speakers of English applies even if the applicant holds a degree from an institution in an English speaking country or permanent residency in the U.S.:
• A score from the Test of Spoken English (TSE),
• the Speaking Proficiency English Assessment Kit (SPEAK), or
• the Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT).
